MakeMeTop History

 History

MakeMeTop was one of the first full search engine marketing companies to offer a full range of search engine optimisation and marketing services to clients in the UK.

We began to offer paid per click (sponsored listing) management to clients at the beginning of 2000 (while Overture.com was still known as GoTo.com and before they launched in Europe). As soon as Inktomi offered the first ever paid inclusion (paid spidering) plans towards the end of 2000, MakeMeTop was one of the first services to incorporate paid inclusion into their standard plans at no additional cost to clients. We were also amongst the first services in Europe to offer full construction, optimization and submission of Trusted Feed XML feeds as early as 2001.

In recognition of our comprehensive search engine marketing services, MakeMeTop were made an accredited Overture SEM company in their first round of certification in January 2003.

Focusing on your Success

Throughout the years, MakeMeTop services have always included the latest methods for providing our clients with relevant focused traffic and can now cover standard listings, paid inclusion, XML feeds and PPC campaigns along with the latest tools to track, measure and improve the success of their campaigns.

In late 2002, MakeMeTop launched its own pay on performance plan, giving clients the option to only pay us for relevant traffic that we could prove was delivered through our search engine marketing efforts. If we fail, we don't get paid. If we deliver unqualified traffic, we don't get paid. If the traffic doesn't convert - then the client won't continue paying. It appeared to be a risky business model but has proved to be highly popular with our clients and successful for us.
